How do you make a living from the work you really want to do? As part of our work to support contemporary creative and fine art photographers to deliver personal or self-generated projects as part of their broader careers, we are delighted to offer two short sessions at Beyond the Lens Festival 2017. 

In partnership with Castlefield Gallery and Manchester Craft & Design Centre, we present a day of talks, discussions and workshops encouraging photographers, artists and makers to draw inspiration for their personal practice from other paid and commercial work.

Successful Contemporary Photography

A series of short talks at The Photography Show in Birmingham that look to the future of photography and the steps professionals are taking to combine meaningful work with continued success.

Redeye is at The Photography Show, Birmingham on Tues 22nd March to present a day of workshops and talks on successful contemporary photography.

The second in Redeye's newest programme of Critique Surgeries, aimed at photographers looking for informal advice on their work or practice.

We are delighted to announce guest panelists Open Eye Gallery Exhibitions Coordinator Thomas Dukes and Salford Art Curator Lindsay Taylor, in addition to Redeye's Paul Herrmann. Currently free for Redeye members, these sessions are programmed quarterly to provide regular informal support to photographers from Redeye and experts in the field. 

Running from October 2014 to April 2015, at the Manchester Central Library, this series of workshops is aimed at any photographer or artist who is considering, or has recently started, working professionally, selling their work, collaborating with others, or who wants their work to be seen more widely and taken more seriously. They look in detail at the key business and professional requirements of practising photographers.
