It's Your Business

31 January 2022, 19:00 to 12 April 2022, 20:30

It’s Your Business is the essential course in business for photographers of any genre, completely restructured for online delivery in 2022, and adapted for the challenges of the post-pandemic era. It's the leading course of its kind in the UK, for anyone who wants to make money doing what they love, to tighten up their photographic or artistic business, and be able to work more effectively and make more impact.

It’s delivered by Redeye staff and leading professionals from across photography.

Lightbox Online is a six-month programme of talks, workshops and group critiques fostering a community of practice that will allow you to grow. There will be a focus on the skills required to sustain a career, from developing and managing standout projects, via marketing, fundraising and evaluation to collaborative working and ethical practice.

Nilupa Yasmin is an artist and educator known for her beautiful, intricately constructed artworks and large-scale installations. The weaving of photographs is core to her practice, and in this workshop she will talk through her use of the process and how it shaped her work, followed by a demonstration of the weaving technique.

Getting Your Ducks in a Row

15 September 2020, 18:00 to 19:15

Getting the business side of your practice organised is one of those tasks that always seems to slip down the to-do list. But not doing so, and not following up when your work gets misused, can be costly. Has your work ever been reproduced without your permission? Or has a client ever made more of your work than was agreed? And why when challenged do so many people say 'But it's only a photo'? This event will give you the skills and knowledge to understand when and how to push back and demand fair payment for your images.

The Rethink Sessions
