We regret to announce that after 26 years of supporting photographers and championing photography throughout the UK, Redeye, the Photography Network will wind down on 31 July 2024 due to a number of factors, including lack of funding. Liverpool Network Meeting

The speaker for the next Liverpool Network Meeting is photographer & lecturer Andrew Jackson. After gaining a First Class Honours degree at Wolverhampton University, where he studied under the social documentary photographer Nick Hedges; he completed a Master of Arts (distinction) in Documentary photography at Newport (University of Wales).

Andrew’s practice spans both commissioned and self-initiated projects.

Critique Sessions

Come and discuss your work, career issues, problems and possibilities with one of Redeye’s regular portfolio viewers.

Bring your work either in print form, on a laptop, or by arrangement, on a CD. Book a 30 minute slot at this website or phone 0845 456 0260. Please also email in a paragraph about the kind of work you do and what stage you’re at so we can match you with a viewer. The sessions take place between 5pm and 7pm. Liverpool Network Meeting

The speaker for the next Liverpool public meeting is Seba Kurtis. The event starts at 7.30pm.

Seba was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1974. He studied journalism and was a political activist. Whilst visiting Europe for the second time in 2001, Argentina fell under crisis. There were no jobs, no access to money from the banks and chaos developing in the streets. He never went back to live in his home country, instead he remained in Europe and worked as an illegal immigrant for over 5 years.

Capture Manchester Launched

We’re delighted to launch Capture Manchester, our brand new competition, sponsored by DLA Piper, with £5000 in prizes - ten prizes of £500 for the best new images of Manchester (UK). The images can be photos, designs, artwork or illustrations.
The winners will be produced as postcards and larger prints, and all of the entries (if they’re legal and decent) will be exhibited at postcard size at CUBE gallery in Manchester. Deadline is now extended to 20th February 2009. One image per person. See: www.capturemanchester.com

Redeye Projection 09

Redeye's network meeting in Liverpool will feature Projection 09, the chosen entries from our recent call for slideshows with sound, on the loose theme of Climate Change.

The Slideshow event will take place at Open Eye Gallery, 32 Wood St, Liverpool, L1 4AQ, on Wednesday 28th January 2009 between 7:30 pm and 9:30 pm. Free entry; all welcome.

The speakers at the next Network Meeting are Faye Claridge and Seba Kurtis. These events are free to attend and open to all. At each meeting there is the opportunity to network with other photographers as well as to meet members of the Redeye team.

The speaker is Adam Lee.

Adam will be discussing various themes relating to his travels including Markets, Easter in Colombia, Travelling the Jungle by Boat, and Hitchhiking. He was born in London in 1981 and has a BSc Hons in Applied Zoology from Liverpool John Moores University (graduating in 2002). Since then he has travelled in South East Asia and Latin America as well as working for his former university.
