Getting Your Ducks in a Row

15 September 2020, 18:00 to 19:15

Getting the business side of your practice organised is one of those tasks that always seems to slip down the to-do list. But not doing so, and not following up when your work gets misused, can be costly. Has your work ever been reproduced without your permission? Or has a client ever made more of your work than was agreed? And why when challenged do so many people say 'But it's only a photo'? This event will give you the skills and knowledge to understand when and how to push back and demand fair payment for your images.

Ahead of the start of our autumn activities we wanted to check in with our members. This will be an online member meet-up led by Redeye Director Paul Herrmann to discuss work and photography during and after the pandemic, strategies for coping and how Redeye can best support our members.

Redeye's Snapshots are a series of skill sharing workshops, offering quick introductions to new creative ideas and techniques.

Join us for a 30 minute demonstration from fine-art photographer Scott Hunter, providing insight into exploring this traditional printing technique from your own home without the need for a darkroom. During the Covid-19 lockdown we’ve all become acutely aware of one of the most essential values of digital preservation: remote access. Most physical collections, libraries, and archives have been closed down for several weeks.  This two day event explores how we can best preserve and give access to our digital archives and collections.

Our Open Space events are discussions on a particular subject. Open to all, and we particularly welcome anyone with experience or knowledge of the subject covered.

Open Space: What’s Next for Photography Graduates will allow graduating students to discuss their concerns and hear about some of the help available to graduates at this challenging time.
