Photography Activists' Boot Camp

This nuts-and-bolts workshop is aimed at photographers who have an interest in getting involved in the politics of photography, and are keen to do more to campaign on a range of issues that affect photography - access, law, copyright, dealing with authorities and protecting freedom of expression.

AWOL Open Studios - May 17th 2013

AWOL Studios would like to invite you to ‘Open Studios 8’ which will take place on Friday, May 17th from 4pm until 9pm.

With 81 studios and workshops, AWOL Studios at Hope Mill is home to over 120 artistic and creative individuals practising a diverse range of disciplines including fine art, jewellery, fashion, photography, sculpture, animation, film making and crafts.

Two special talks to introduce the fifth National Photography Symposium taking place the following day.

The first talk is by celebrated Liverpool-based landscape photographer John Davies on The Landscape as Self-Portrait. He will consider how much a landscape photograph can say about the photographer who took it.

However we are delighted that the photography publisher Dewi Lewis has agreed to step in and lead the workshop. Dewi has huge experience in this area and has also led numerous workshops internationally.

Preston People Panorama Exhibition Tour

There are a range of exciting events taking place over the next couple of months as part of the major, Preston People Panorama exhibition currently on display in the Museum of Lancashire.

The exhibition features over 70 panoramic photographs of Preston based groups and organisations, captured by award-winning photographer, Jan Chlebik.
