Surfaced Exhibition: Silent Auction

Photographers from Manchester School of Art are holding a silent auction of prints by a range of photographers including Sian Bonnell, Gavin Parry, David Penny and many more, to raise funds for an exhibition in London.

What is... Lomography?

Network Event with Redeye Lightbox Groups

Redeye's Lightbox programme worked with 22 up-and-coming photographers across four groups to produce collaborative photographic projects which are exhibited as part of LOOK/13 Liverpool International Photography Festival. The groups responded to the festival theme of 'Who do you think you are' in a range of different ways, and have produced site-specific work at venues across Liverpool.

On 13 June 2013, Photo-Forum will be joined by Guilhem Alandry and Anna Kåri, two members of the award-winning international photography collective, Documentography.

Working across the fields of documentary, reportage, portraiture and fine art, Documentography’s photographers tackle common projects covering a wide range of social, political, and cultural issues as well as developing personal projects of their own. With several awards, exhibitions and publications under their belts, the Documentography collective are definitely a team to watch.

Moyra Davey at Tate Liverpool

Join Tate Liverpool for a reading by the renowned New York-based photographer, filmmaker and writer.

Davey’s practice weaves literary history and autobiography with the world of ideas, using the process of reading itself to facilitate a process of self-scrutiny and critical re-examination.

Coinciding with her new exhibition at Tate Liverpool, Davey’s talk provides an insight into her artistic life and motivations, tracing the relationships between her photographs and film works.

In this two day practice-oriented masterclass, Mishka Henner will explore different approaches to image hacking, introduce ways of working with online datasets and mapping tools, and discuss the contemporary uses of satellite imagery and drones.

This event is presented in collaboration with the Library of Birmingham and Birmingham City University. Tickets must be booked in advance through this link.

Eva Stenram in Conversation with Lucy Soutter

Open Eye Gallery presents a discussion on key themes in contemporary art photography between exhibiting artist, Eva Stenram, and art historian and author, Lucy Soutter.

Stenram’s work explores the flux of perception through manipulation of acquired negatives and source photographs, and is considered in Soutter’s latest publication ‘Why Art Photography?’ (2013).

Lucy Soutter is a photographer, critic and art historian. She teaches in the Department of Critical and Historical Studies at the Royal College of Art and has written about contemporary art and photography.’
