Events

We regret to announce that after 26 years of supporting photographers and championing photography throughout the UK, Redeye, the Photography Network will wind down on 31 July 2024 due to a number of factors, including lack of funding. Read our full statement here. We are no longer publishing events. The archive of past events is available below.

We are delighted to be returning with the National Photography Symposium (NPS), this year held in partnership with the University of Salford at their base in MediaCityUK. The Symposium will be held over three dynamic and engaging days, Thursday 1 - Saturday 3 November.

Photo of Pete James by Brian Griffin

Join Redeye for the first in a new series of lectures that will honour the great champion of British photography Pete James, who died in March 2018. A regular lecture in partnership with The Royal Photographic Society, PARC (Photography and the Archive Research Centre), and FORMAT International Photography Festival & QUAD.

Get informal advice on your career and photographic work during 30-minute one-to-one sessions with experts in the industry. At this month's critique, we welcome guest panellists Angela Sheard (Associate Curator and Programme Coordinator of Impressions Gallery, Bradford) and Howard Barlow (freelance photojournalist) alongside Paul Herrmann (Director of Redeye, the Photography Network).

The image of Manchester has been accurately represented visually over the years by the likes of local stalwarts Samuel Coulthurst or Kevin Cummins. In times of political and social flux, a rather more acerbic, satirical identity has been required, and David Dunnico is one of the people to have picked up that baton.

Back for its fifth year, Hull International Photography Festival returns to celebrate the cultural importance of photography in the region. Alongside award-winning visiting and local photographers, there will be a host of other events taking place across the city.

FORM Collective - The Death of the Author

30 September 2018, 14:30 to 15:30
East Sussex

FORM is a new collective of seven artists working with photography and visual arts, based in Manchester, Birmingham, rural Yorkshire, London and Liverpool. New work by each collective member will be shown for the first time from September 29th 2018 at Brighton Photo Fringe. The collective came together as part of Redeye's Lightbox programme.

Join FORM in the Phoenix, Brighton on Sunday afternoon, 30 Sept, for a panel discussion with members of the collective and Paul Herrmann, director of Redeye.

The AGM is where Redeye reflects on the past year as well as making key decisions for the future.

This is the first chance for you to hear about Redeye's plans for the next year and beyond. New board members will be voted in and you can meet other Redeye members as well as all staff and directors. So come along, have your say and catch up with old friends and new. Drinks and buffet will be provided.

Come along to be introduced to the evocative work and world created by Redeye member Allie Crewe. You brought your own light is an immersive celebration, depicting women’s stories of change and transformation.

An evening in conversation with artist Mahtab Hussain in partnership with New Art Gallery Walsall and GRAIN Photography Hub.

The #RetiredPerformers Project is a series of images and audio interviews being captured over 12 months by Blackpool-based photographer, Claire Griffiths.

The Interval is a snapshot midway through the project of some of the stories she has gathered from the chauffeurs, dancers, performers and musicians who were active in Blackpool in, and prior to, the 1970s.
