We regret to announce that after 26 years of supporting photographers and championing photography throughout the UK, Redeye, the Photography Network will wind down on 31 July 2024 due to a number of factors, including lack of funding. This event will be an informal catch up for Redeye members, taking place in the heart of Manchester.

HIDDEN WORDS: Writing workshop with Ian Pople

On Sunday 15 July, sharpen your pencils and unearth your hidden words for a lovely afternoon of poetry, photography and cake.

Led by published author Ian Pople, you will create your own piece of writing in response to Hidden Worlds: a group photography exhibition looking at the extraordinary inside the everyday.

Dr Alasdair Foster, Leverhulme Visiting Professor from Melbourne and Ambassador to the Asia-Pacific PhotoForum, is one of the most original, provocative and inspiring thinkers in photography. We are delighted to welcome him to Manchester during a brief visit to the UK for a keynote lecture that sets the scene for the next National Photography Symposium later in 2018 on The Future of Work in Photography.

Easdale Photography Courses

Hosted and led by photographers Colin McPherson and Adam Lee, these residential courses on Easdale Island are aimed at people who love photography and want to take their practice to a new level.

Photo Cafe is an informal discussion and meeting place, an event that invites speakers and participants to discuss ideas, debate topics around contemporary photography issues and network with others.

Join creative light painters Jérémy Palisse and Tim Gamble as they take you to a special location in the Peak District to learn how to create dazzling light-painted images outdoors in this special Redeye Academy workshop.

Documentary photographer, John Walmsley, will be giving a talk on protest, his working life in photography and his involvement in the Guildford School of Art sit-in, 1968. At the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool, 2pm to 3pm on Friday 11th May 2018 as part of the Time Tunnel Festival.

Redeye has partnered with Hobo Photo to bring you an evening of talks on the best of Northern photography. The event is part of the Hit the North exhibition at Manchester Central Library; featuring work from leading Northern photographers across five decades.

Tenzin Shenyen is a 21st Century itinerant Buddhist monk who enjoys keeping the communication pathways open between his Buddhist worldview and the British culture he grew up in. We are delighted that he has agreed to share his thoughts on the contemporary situation of photography.

Photographic artist and Redeye member Natalie Wardle returns to host an evening with talented Northern photographers whose work looks at the human form in visual art and performance. Speaking alongside Natalie will be Lucy Ridges and Michael Savage.
