The event
Run by Redeye member Verity Adriana and co-founded with Anna Bean, Illuminate is a photography organisation aimed at providing a network and a platform for high-quality photographic practice in Hull.

After securing funding, artists were commissioned to create Project Legacy 2018, with local photographers Karim Skalli and Anete Sooda creating a body of work around this theme.

During this event, Verity will introduce presentations from artists involved in the project, to investigate the lasting impact and legacy of Hull City of Culture 2017, specifically the impact it had on Hull and its cultural industries. Guest speakers confirmed already include Photographer Graeme Oxby and Kenn Taylor Director of Artlink in Hull.

The session will also provide Hull-based photographers with a platform to build their network.

Get involved and have your say about the year at the round-table discussion following the presentations – an open and honest environment to analyse the legacy.

A bit about Verity Adriana…
Verity is a photographic artist whose work explores how the ordinary can be transformed into moments of extraordinary through sublime forces that engage the viewer through aesthetics and experience. Previous project Lumen investigates how light and photography have the power to transform matter and materials into moments of sublime experience by challenging our perceptions.

Who is it for?
This event is for anyone based in the region or beyond, who consumed the cultural offerings from Hull's City of Culture programme and has an interest in assessing that impact.
