Britain's First Photo Album events

The BBC celebrates the legacy of Francis Frith, the man who set out to capture images of Great Britain, with dozens of events and activities from mid March 2012.

Alongside the TV series hosted by John Sergeant, there's a range of events across the UK exploring archives and albums, with a wide range of practical sessions, talks and presentations.

Hothouse

Redeye is delighted to present Hothouse, a day of new photography and showcase of creative talent in the North. It promises to be a hive of activity and information.

AWOL Open Studios

Join AWOL Studios at their first Open Studios event for 2012.

The Open Studio events give you the chance to meet creative residents in their own working environment, purchase their art, be inspired, socialise and celebrate Manchester’s artistic talent.

This is the first event where AWOL can open all our 77 Studios, including the new floor that was built and filled over Winter.
As always they have plenty of free drinks and refreshments, so you can enjoy a wander around the Mill and say hi to their 100+ artists and creative businesses.

Focus on Imaging

Focus on Imaging is Europe's biggest annual imaging show, covering all your needs from image capture through to output and beyond.

Aimed at professional image makers or processors, buyers of image making equipment or materials, manufacturers, distributors of products or a keen hobbyists. It's free to enter for professionals who register in advance, £8 for non-professionals and £10 on the door.

The BIPP Portfolio Reviews at Focus on Imaging

We're delighted to welcome back ex-Liverpool 'photographer to the stars' John Stoddart (above) for the next Redeye and Open Eye Photographers' Network Meeting. John gave one of the most popular and talked-about presentations at the National Photography Symposium in May 2011.

Philip Bloom DSLR Video Workshop

During the interactive workshop Philip Bloom will elaborate on the technical benefits of using the DSLR's in video mode.

The workshop will cover: selecting the camera for you; the issues and how to work around them; gear and lens selection; the essentials and not essential; the importance of sound recording with DSLRs; large chip camcorders, and time lapse and post production workflow. The rest of the day is guided by you; you ask what you want and we cover it.

SchoolPhotoPRO Convention

This is an annual convention for professional photographers involved or interested in school and pre-school photography.

Pricing structure and details of discounts for their members are available on their website.

Informal meetings also take place on the day before the scheduled event.
