Join Justin Quinnell for a workshop on pinhole photography.

Justin Quinnell has been teaching and lecturing pinhole photography for 20 years and is recognised as a leading exponent of this subject. He has exhibited worldwide and written many publications, most recently ‘Build Your Own Paper Cameras’ which had its launch at the British Library in 2009.

Network event: Stuart Griffiths

Hosted by Open Eye in Liverpool, these networking events are regular get-togethers for photographers to meet and mingle over a drink, and hear a talk by an invited speaker. For our next meeting we’re pleased to welcome speaker Stuart Griffiths for a Q&A about his work.

Documentary and Environmental Portraiture Photography Workshop

This workshop is a high intensity ‘people photography’ weekend workshop, featuring street photography.

With the support of three photography teachers, Dr Paul Hill, Nick Lockett and Martin Shakeshaft this workshop will encourage participants to explore new ways of photographic seeing and story-telling with pictures.

The featured guest speaker, Stephen McLaren runs street photography master classes in London for The Guardian, and will talk on documenting life on the streets. Stephen is editor of Street Photography Now.

Learning to Fly. A Digital Photography Workshop

The workshop, led by photographer Robert Norbury, is for people who know the basics and want to move on to developing their own style.

It will be about simplicity in approach and equipment. About influence and inspiration.

Storytelling Workshop

This is a new multimedia course based around the creation of web storytelling.

Each workshop accommodates 9 students for 9 days with 9 stories at the end.

The price of the workshop is 1900 Euros.

Roger Ballen Masterclass

Redeye and Manchester Art Gallery are very pleased to present a talk and masterclass by one of the great photographers of his generation, Roger Ballen. They coincide with the launch of a major exhibition at the gallery, Shadow Land, exploring three decades of his career, charting the evolution of his unique photographic style and demonstrating the contribution he has made to contemporary photography. The exhibition runs from 30 March to 13 May 2012.

In the Steps of Chen Man

Redeye and Chinese Arts Centre are delighted to invite you to In the Steps of Chen Man, a fashion photography workshop inspired by Chen Man’s solo exhibition at Chinese Arts Centre.

David Noton's day long presentation will be aimed at advanced photographers.

Areas covered will be field craft, attitude, working practice, editing, workflow, presentation and originality interspersed with demonstrations on capture to finish, travelling with camera kit, tilt and shift lens, use of filters and panoramic shots and stitching.

David Noton is an award winning landscape and travel photographer with over 24 years experience as a professional under his belt.
