Networking event

28th May 2022; 1pm - 4pm

Are you feeling a bit disconnected from the photography community post lockdown?

This is a relaxed opportunity to reconnect with the photo community and meet other artists working within the region. We would also like to take this opportunity to (re-) introduce ourselves to you and meet you in real life. You will hear from the director of Redeye, Paul Herrmann, as well as a couple of other photographers in a short presentation. Redeye's programme co-ordinator Rebecca Burns will be there too.

Working life can be mentally exhausting, and it can be easy to forget to take care of yourself in the middle of it all. This new series of wellbeing workshops in partnership with the Photographic Collections Network aims to support anyone working in the sector with tools to help you in your selfcare. Led by wellbeing experts, each session will focus on different techniques and skills to help you find ways to slow down the mind and its anxieties; refocusing on the present.

7 May 2022, 10:00 to 9 May 2022, 16:00
Manchester

Come and see us at Photo North!

Photo North Festival, run by Sharon Price, Peter Dench and friends, is back for its third year, at Bonded Warehouse, Manchester, 7,8,9 May. Building on the success of previous years, this unique photography event is aimed at the professional photographer, art-enthusiast, keen amateur and students. The festival brings together a sensational display of exhibitions, talks, walks, workshops and portfolio reviews from highly respected and emerging artists.

This event welcomes you to join the discussion about commissioning socially engaged projects from both the photographer's and commissioner's point of view. Speakers Gwen Riley Jones and Rosie Naylor talk about their commissioning experience; following that will be an open conversation for all to take part in.

Artist Talk: John Stezaker

26 April 2022, 13:00 to 14:00

Feeling inspired during the lockdown, the influential British artist John Stezaker got started on a new body of work, one which is now on show at The Approach in London until the 26th March. Stezaker claims to have “rediscovered the pleasures of drawing” in these works. We encourage you to see the exhibition, Double Shadow, if you can but don't worry if not, there will still be lots to unpack.
