Considered as one of the most important Chinese artists of the 20th Century, Li Yuan-chia was a visual artist with a unique vision, he was said to have ‘developed photography in a highly personal way’. Li Yuan-chia spent the last 28 years of his life in Cumbria, establishing the LYC Museum at Banks farmhouse on Hadrian’s Wall, which contained an art gallery, theatre, library, printing press, children’s art room and a darkroom.
