We regret to announce that after 26 years of supporting photographers and championing photography throughout the UK, Redeye, the Photography Network will wind down on 31 July 2024 due to a number of factors, including lack of funding. Running from October 2014 to April 2015, at the Manchester Central Library, this series of workshops is aimed at any photographer or artist who is considering, or has recently started, working professionally, selling their work, collaborating with others, or who wants their work to be seen more widely and taken more seriously. They look in detail at the key business and professional requirements of practising photographers.

Unseen 2014

After two successful editions, Amsterdam’s international photography fair and festival returns with a programme that celebrates photography in all its forms. The festival programme, which can be found in more detail on the Unseen website. Tickets for Unseen can be purchased online.

Humphrey Spender - a day at his studio

A rare opportunity to attend a study day at the Humphrey Spender studio, darkroom and archive. Rachel Spender will show prints from the archive collection. Spender's master printer Stuart Keegan will instruct in darkroom printing from one of Spender's original negatives.

It takes place at the studio in Essex where Spender painted and designed textiles and wallpapers and in Spender's original darkroom where he printed his own documentary photographs from the 1930's negatives.

Protest, Photography and Visibility

A one day seminar about new developments in the field of contemporary rural arts, rural photography/documentary, and rural arts and cultural funding policy which may also be of interest and benefit to rural development NGOs, including RDPE/LEADER LAGs, the National Parks, National Trust, and other rural community-led social, cultural and creative economy initiatives.

Learn the process from sourcing a great location to mastering technical aspects of your camera. Time will be spent on location around Dorset including dawn/dusk shoots to master light and composition.

Studio Photography - 5 day workshop

Develop your studio photography skills including portraiture, still life, lighting techniques and compositional skills, taught by our specialist university tutors. Course also includes studio shoots using professional models.

Redeye is delighted to bring you an evening talk from acclaimed photographer Niall McDiarmid looking at his long-term personal work about documenting the people of Britain, which he creates using a quixotic combination of portraiture, street photography and incredible interpersonal skills.
