FORMAT International Portfolio Reviews: Bursary Places

The renowned FORMAT International Portfolio Review is returning in the spring of 2024 and will take place online over two days – Friday 22 and Saturday 23 March.

We are pleased to be offering our bursary places once more. This year there are 5 bursaries available – each bursary awardee will receive 3 reviews each.

Photo North Festival: National Student Competition 2024

Entries are now open for Photo North Festival's National Student Competition 2024, which will be exhibited in Leeds 12-14 April 2024. Students don’t have to be studying photography to enter - entries open to all.

This is an opportunity for an experienced artist facilitator to deliver a programme for two groups of secondary school students in Portsmouth that utilises photography as a creative vehicle through which to increase young people’s awareness of the history of the Black and mixed-heritage Caribbean prisoners held at Portchester Castle during the French Revolution.

Photoworks and English Heritage are seeking proposals from young artists aged 18 – 25 keen to develop their practice with support from the Photoworks team and an experienced mentor. Three artists will each be commissioned to make a new body of artwork at an English Heritage site. Open to apply now!
