Dark Peak Photo Festival in Glossop

Dark Peak Photo is organising a new photography festival, staged across the market town of Glossop, on the edge of the Peak District. The festival will run from 22nd to 25th February 2024, across multiple venues in Glossop. With the kindness and support of many local organisations and businesses, they will be able to bring an exciting, inspiring, and aspirational visual arts festival to the foot of the Dark Peak.

Open Eye Gallery are delighted to be hosting a special hybrid event, where anyone interested in finding out more about their joint MA in socially engaged photography course with the University of Salford, can come along to hear more.

Redeye’s Helena Lee has been working with the Carbon Literacy Project to put together a course for photographers to gain accreditation as a Climate Aware Photographer. We believe this course is the first of its kind and it is open to photographers of any genre, experience and background. It's a space for you to learn more about the effects of climate change worldwide, consider your impact on the environment and discuss ways to commit to reducing your carbon footprint within your photographic work and your lifestyle.

LOOK Climate Lab at Open Eye Gallery

Open Eye Gallery are running LOOK Climate Lab - a biennial programme exploring how photography can be a relevant and powerful medium for talking about climate change. Running from 18 January to 31 March 2024, they'll transform the gallery into a lab: bringing together researchers and artists to test their ideas and encouraging their audiences to discuss systematic changes needed for dealing with the climate crisis.

Deliberately informal, The Social includes presentations by photography/arts professionals, offering tips on chosen themes and encourages participants to join the conversation and share their own insights.
