The PhotoIreland Festival aims to fill the gap in Irish photography culture, joining many European capitals like London, Paris and Madrid, who enjoy the celebration of Photographic Festivals that encourage their citizens to participate in a number of events, even outside the exhibition agenda, like through educational programs, workshops, portfolio reviews and guided tours.

International Photography Festival: Les Rencontres d’Arles
4th July – 18th September 2011

The celebrated International Photography Festival, Les Rencontres d’Arles features the finest in the world of photography: the finest work, venues, events, talks, people, and celebration of the art. This year the 42nd Les Rencontres d’Arles Festival will host over 60 photographic exhibitions and numerous other events installed in various exceptional heritage sites of Arles.

London Street Photography Festival

Belfast Photography Festival
4 – 14 August 2011

Belfast Photography Festival is delivering Northern Ireland’s first festival of photography and visual culture, providing a forum and promote the growth of the current photographic infrastructure and practice throughout the country. Through a series of interactive events, the festival aims inspire the countries future photographers, artists and entrepreneurs, offering new, exciting, welcoming and sometimes challenging experiences to audiences through the Festival's programme of events.

Margate Photography Festival
13 – 14 August 2011

This year's festival is calling on photographers to make connections with the outside, exploring the structure of groups, the viral nature of the idea and the formation of grassroots culture. The aim of the Margate Photography Festival is to explore social systems and political structures to see how photography can be used as an active social medium to change our environment.
