Phil Portus: SALFORD 77 at Langworthy Cornerstone Community Centre

SALFORD 77 is a documentary photography project focusing on everyday life in a changing urban environment in 1977. It aims to bring back memories of these parts of Salford and to show younger people the times their parents and grandparents grew up in.

Martyn Pearson: Sheffield Great Flood Landscape at St Nicholas' Church

To commemorate the Sheffield great Flood of 1864, The Photographer, Martyn Pearson has created two exhibitions of contemporary photography. The ‘Landscape’ exhibition follows the path of the flood from Dale Dyke Dam to the Wicker Arches in the Centre of Sheffield.

To commemorate the Sheffield great Flood of 1864, The Photographer, Martyn Pearson has created two exhibitions of contemporary photography. The ‘Still-Life’ exhibition depicts artefacts relating to the flood. These exhibitions are part of the 160th year anniversary flood events across the city of Sheffield.

Sheila Chakravarti: First They Ignore You at Flowerfield Arts Centre

Chakravarti uses photography as a tool to promote change in her community. By exploring the universal experiences of people who have come to settle here, the artist hopes to encourage public engagement and awareness of the many complex issues involved. This exhibition was produced and curated by Belfast Exposed and we are delighted to present it in Portstewart. Running from 9 March – 20 April.

Andy Barnham and Sara de Jong: We Are Here, Because You Were There: Afghan Interpreters in the UK at Impressions Gallery

We Are Here, Because You Were There: Afghan Interpreters in the UK is a collaborative project by photographer Andy Barnham and researcher Sara de Jong, which documents the experiences of Afghan interpreters who were employed by the British Army in Afghanistan between 2004 and 2021, and resettled to the UK in 2021. This exhibition is on at Impressions Gallery until 4 May.
