Are you a photographer with a connection to Chapeltown and/or the African and Caribbean communities? Are you interested in creating a new body of work for and with the community?

Leeds Caribbean & African Centre is commissioning a photographer/lens-based artist to create a new body of work that connects to and engages with the community in Chapeltown, Leeds.

Lens Lab will support the residency programme through physical resources, liaising with the community, professional development and mentoring through regular meet-ups with the team.

The project will coincide with key dates and festivals for the community, culminating in a celebration of the work during Black History Month in October 2024. A selection of this new work will be added to the Historic England Archive, where it will be accessible for future generations.

A collaboration between Leeds Caribbean & African Centre, Lens Lab Project and Historic England.
