Deadline:
Monday, September 2, 2019 - 09:00
Photoworks are looking for a freelance editor to edit the next issue of Photoworks Annual, a journal on contemporary photography published once a year.

They are seeking an experienced editor with a knowledge of, and interest in, contemporary photography with an international perspective. Experience of writing and editing content for print (ideally arts or photography-related) is essential, as well as experience of working effectively to deadlines.

This is a part-time freelance position starting September 2019 until January 2020, reporting to Photoworks Director Shoair Mavlian. They offer a flat fee of £4,000 including expenses.

You can get an impression here of the current issue of Photoworks Annual, A New Europe. Part of the role will require researching and familiarising yourself with Photoworks’ history and the projects and artists they have worked with over the past 25 years.

Although the offices are in Brighton, they invite applications from across the UK. If required, the successful candidate will be able to work remotely with regular editorial meetings by phone/Skype.

Photoworks is interested in hearing from people with a range of backgrounds and experiences, and particularly from those underrepresented in the sector.

Please email anne@photoworks.org.uk to request additional information about the opportunity.

Apply by sending a short cover letter and CV with examples of your previous work to anne@photoworks.org.uk, with subject ‘Annual editor application’.
