News of two events in Manchester whether you have a high- or a low-tech approach.

Urban Screens Manchester 07 is a conference and events programme that covers the range of possibilities for people wanting to use new media technology to show their work outside. The outdoor events are free and run till 14th October while the conference is a paid event on 11th and 12th Oct, booked via the website. There’s also the chance to see VJ masters The Light Surgeons in the UK premiere of their new show at Manchester Town Hall on Thursday 11 October. Tickets are £5 and can be booked via the Cornerhouse on 0161 200 1500.

The Second Manchester Artist's Books Fair will be taking place on Saturday 29th Sept 2007, at The Holden Gallery, Manchester Metropolitan University. We're told it's an interesting event with a fanastic variety of artists work across 45 stands, open from 11.30am to 6pm, plus a talk by Maria Fusco at 10:30am. Admission free.
