First exhibited in Tokyo in 1979, Kohei Yoshiyuki’s (Japan, b. 1946) twin projects 'The Park' and 'Love Hotel' ignited furious debate about photography’s relationship with voyeurism and surveillance.

In The Park, as observer, and with his camera loaded with infrared flashbulbs and film, he photographed in three different Tokyo parks over several years. The resulting body of work captures heterosexual and homosexual couples engaged in sexual activity, and the peeping toms who stalked them. More →

Being Nobody, Going Nowhere is a new photographic work, being shown for the first time during the Brighton Photo Fringe as an outdoor exhibition, open 24/7.

It is being installed as large panels spanning 8 metres, in the windows of the old Co-op department store in Brighton, transforming the space into temporary gallery walls.

The photographs in this series were made over a number of years, during an unremarkable period in time. They are the product of a personal quest to break away from the habits of life and seek satisfaction through the beauty of the everyday. More →

A group exhibition showcasing the work of a new generation of photographers curated by James Reid and Tom Watt.

The photographers included in the exhibition come from a diverse range of photographic backgrounds: from fashion and still life to conceptual photography and contemporary art. Despite the diversity of their practice, shared interests emerge. Their work challenges conventional boundaries of photography in surprising and unconventional ways, from appropriating found images to incorporating other media. More →

The Hidden Youth Project is a photographic exhibition by young people.

Professional Photographers Amanda Jobson & Stuart Griffiths have facilitated photographic workshops from March 2012; with Xtrax, a young peoples' drop in Centre. The youth group experienced manual film cameras, taking photographs on location around Hastings. They developed their own film and used darkroom facilities at Sussex Coast College Hastings. More →

Geographies of Seeing, curated by Lighthouse and Brighton Photo Biennial, draws together a collection of Trevor Paglen’s celebrated photographic work which explores and documents hidden worlds.

The exhibition is focussed on two bodies of work. The Other Night Sky uses data from an international network of amateur satellite watchers to track and photograph classified spacecraft. Echoing the efforts of historic astronomers, Paglen documents astral movements that don’t officially exist. More →

Urban explorers, drone pilots, squatters and activists will take centre stage for the fifth edition of the Brighton Photo Biennial.

BPB12 is concerned with photography as both a tool and a process - a means of understanding the world and an active force in shaping it.

Future Histories: Celebrating The Scottish Diaspora was developed during Ajamu's residency at Street Level Photoworks.

The portraits consist of African, Caribbean and people of Black Scottish descent living and working in Scotland. The work forms part of his ongoing artistic and theoretical engagement with photography, cultural heritage, diversity and representation. More →

'Nymphaeaceae' is Shah's most recent work and is a collection of portraits of women with Asian, African and Arab heritage living in Scotland.

The title refers to flowering water plants, which are rooted in soil under bodies of water and which bloom above the water's surface. Shah uses this notion, to explore the constant transitional state of her subjects, who float in between their two cultures, one, which they are rooted in, and one, which they inhabit. More →
