FORMAT International Portfolio Reviews: Bursary Places

The renowned FORMAT International Portfolio Review is returning in the spring of 2024 and will take place online over two days – Friday 22 and Saturday 23 March. 

We are pleased to be offering our bursary places once more. This year there are 5 bursaries available, each bursary awardee will receive 3 reviews each and there are also 10 bursaries available to those living in Scotland, where the bursary awardee will receive 5 reviews each.

Photo North Festival: National Student Competition 2024

Entries are now open for Photo North Festival's National Student Competition 2024, which will be exhibited in Leeds 12-14 April 2024. Students don’t have to be studying photography to enter - entries open to all.

Photoworks: Hiring an Artist Facilitator

This is an opportunity for an experienced artist facilitator to deliver a programme for two groups of secondary school students in Portsmouth that utilises photography as a creative vehicle through which to increase young people’s awareness of the history of the Black and mixed-heritage Caribbean prisoners held at Portchester Castle during the French Revolution.

Photoworks Open Call: Focal Point– Capturing Community & Heritage

Photoworks and English Heritage are seeking proposals from young artists aged 18 – 25 keen to develop their practice with support from the Photoworks team and an experienced mentor. Fabrica: In Between Gallery Photography Open Call

The In Between Gallery is a temporary exhibition platform for Fabrica’s picture window onto Duke Street in central Brighton. This exciting initiative is now in its sixth year. The selected artist will receive a fee of £200 plus travel costs. Apply now!

Jaskirt Dhaliwal-Boora: A Place Called Home at Blackheath Library

A Place Called Home is a new project by socially engaged artist Jaskirt Dhaliwal-Boora which brings together the stories of four young women and their families, and the effects of generational trauma.

Commissioned by West Midlands Police in 2023, Jaskirt had the opportunity to work and collaborate with Kiera, Tiegan, Sienna and Codie to make a body of work to try and effect real change and impact within the police.
