The Royal Photographic Society was founded in 1853. Its collection is now held at the National Media Museum as part of the National Photography Collection. With over 250000 images, 8000 items of photographic equipment and 31000 books, periodicals and documents, it’s one of the most comprehensive photographic collections in the world. We regret to announce that after 26 years of supporting photographers and championing photography throughout the UK, Redeye, the Photography Network will wind down on 31 July 2024 due to a number of factors, including lack of funding. The Creative Show 2015 will take place from 12th – 20th June (closed Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th) from 10.00 – 4.00pm each day.
This year we have a host of courses on display including Animation and Illustration; Architectural Technology; Art and Design; Creative Writing; Fine Art; Games Art and Games Design; Graphic Design; Interior Design; Photography; Textiles and Surface Design and the Art and Design 14 – 16 Saturday Club.

The festival showcases the best creative work from the University of Salford’s School of Arts and Media students and will include art and design degree shows, original theatrical performances, live music, student journalism and media awards ceremonies, a fashion runway show and a range of other exciting events and installations.

This is the first exhibition in Britain devoted to salted paper prints, one of the earliest forms of photography. A British invention, unveiled by William Henry Fox Talbot in 1839, salt prints spread across the globe, creating a new visual language of the modern moment. This technique transformed subjects from still lifes, portraits, landscapes and scenes of daily life into images with their own specific aesthetic: a soft effect particular to this photographic process.
