The Other is an inclusive literary night encouraging its writers to get to know each other and foster new friendships. In response to Open Eye Gallery's current exhibition 209 Women, this edition will be an all-women line-up (including non-binary/female identifying writers) sourced from an open call.

The writers are placed in pairs and are given 15 minutes (per pair) to read each other’s work aloud - often creating an engaging and unique dynamic across all genres of writing – poetry, non-fiction, flash fiction, art writing, sci-fi & everything in between.

The open call is still open for entries and is accepting work that responds to the 209 Women exhibition or to a pressing female issue of our time in at least one piece.

The Other is managed by Eli Regan & Mike Conley, who have been running the event for 3 years. This year, the event is touring the North West including The Turnpike in Leigh and Victoria Baths in Manchester.
