Mass photo session at New Scotland Yard
Photographers draw attention to new Counter-Terrorism Act on 16th Feb
Photographers are marking the day that the Counter-Terrorism Act 2008 becomes law with a mass photo session outside London's police HQ.
The new law allows for arrest and imprisonment of anyone who takes pictures of officers ‘likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism’.
The National Union of Journalists, British Journal of Photography, British Press Photographers Association, comedian Mark Thomas and many others have teamed up for this event, which organisers say is 'not a protest' - just a chance to 'exercise your democratic right to take a photograph in a public place.'
11am to 12pm, 16th February 2009, outside New Scotland Yard, Broadway, London SW1H 0BG. See: Facebook page.
