For those of who don’t know “WPOTY” stands for “Wildlife Photographer of The Year” and is the largest natural history and wildlife competition of its type in the world. It is organised and run on an annual basis by the “Natural History Museum, BBC, and this year Veolia Environment” the main sponsor.
The overall-winning image for 2009 was that of an Iberian Wolf by a Spanish photographer “Jose Luis Rodriguez”. Since the image was chosen to be the winner and the awards made it has come to light that the wolf in question was housed in captivity in a Spanish zoo and trained to do certain tricks.
The accusation has since been verified, and the appropriate action has been implemented to remove the title and recoup the £10,000 prize money.
I never thought I would see the day that this would happen to such a prestigious competition.

The only thing left for me to say now, is that I am so disappointed and disgusted that such a well respected world wide competition has been tarnished is such a way, and that, “cheats never prosper”!!
